Case description

This video shows a greenlight XPS prostate surgery for the treatment of male BPH performed by Dr. Kevin Zorn.

In step 8, the fine tuning of the procedure is carried out. At this point, the scope is retracted to the verumontanum to assess the degree of residual untreated tissue. Treatment with 120W is used to ablate any remaining BPH adenoma to allow an unobstructed defect.

In short, the water inflow is stopped and the outflow allowed to slowly drain the bladder. Arterial bleeding is assessed. Small capillary vessels are usually left alone. The foley that is placed with 30mL helps compress the prostate and will be highlighted in the following video.

In summary, this video highlights the key aspects of "APICAL TREATMENT AND VERIFICATION OF HEMOSTASIS".
