Case description

This 80 year old male never smoker underwent CABGx4 two months prior. On pre-surgery work-up he was discovered to have a 2 cm central right lower lobe lung tumour. Clinical T1N0M0, stage 1. FDG PET shows very low tumour FDG uptake. DOTATE scan shows tumour avidity. This is suggestive of the diagnosis of bronchial carcinoid. He underwent minimally invasive right lower lobectomy of the lung using the (*brand hidden*) surgical robotic system at University Hospital Geelong. Surgeons: Cheng-Hon Yap and Michael Seitz. He was discharged 48 hours after surgery with no complications
