This video shows a Bipolar Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP). A Bipolar TURP is the latest technology in performing a TURP. It allows saline to be used as an irrigant which lowers the complication rate of this procedure considerably, and allows one to perform TURP on a much larger range of prostate sizes. The patient stays overnight in the hospital, has little pain and is recovered in a few days. Success rate of a Bipolar TURP is well over 90%.
