Arthroscopy




It is the examination of joints carried out with an arthroscope.

The course of study - at the beginning followed by the execution of small incisions of the skin in specific locations (based on the knowledge of the anatomy). They are introduced instruments and optical instruments. The first step is to fill the pond with carbon dioxide or saline solution (to facilitate viewing of the interior). The doctor will then proceed to the procedure - the inside of the pond watching the monitor, assess articular cartilage, meniscus, ligaments, tendons, muscles and other structures specific to the pond. The last step is to implement the planned surgery.
types:

a) Arthroscopy of reconnaissance - performed for diagnostic purposes;

b) Treatment Arthroscopy - to carry out intra-treatment (reconstructive procedures, the collection of clippings, synevectomy, removal of tissue such as cartilage).



Indications



a) orthopedics (join injury);

b) joint fractures;

c) rheumatic diseases (most commonly rheumatoid arthritis);

d) degeneration of joints;

e) presence of foreign bodies;

f) processes of tumor;

g) an unexplained pain, swelling, or other chronic ailments of the pond.


Complications



Possible complications include hematoma, joint effusion in the joint, suppurative arthritis.
