Case description

Endoscopic clinical case: placement of an endoscopic stent for cancerous narrowing in the rectum and sigmoid colon.

A 75-year-old patient with a history of previous surgery for rectal cancer was referred due to colon obstruction caused by narrowing in the rectum and sigmoid colon (sarcoma with invasion into the sigmoid colon). A self-expanding uncovered metallic stent measuring 22 × 90 mm was successfully placed under fluoroscopic and endoscopic guidance, effectively relieving the obstruction immediately after stent placement.
