Case description

In this film the procedure of abdoperitoneal resection of rectum is presented. Indications for this surgery are tumors infiltrating anal sphincter or situations when the distance between tumor and anal sphincter is too small to preserve enough of cancer clear margin. In this type of surgery majority of rectum is resected through abdominal access. The rest of the rectum and the anal canal is resected through perineal access. Also, the permanent stoma is essential to be performed.
