Case description

In this video there is an overview of imaging methods in lower back pain. In young patient with low back pain in first 6-8 weeks X-ray isn't necessary, unless patient has a history of significant trauma, cancer, has been taking steroids for longer time or has bladder and bowel problems. MRI should be done if there is a suspicion of malignancy, infection, in patients with neurological deficit or longer pain unresponsive for conservative treatment.
