Experiencing progressive left-hand dominant wrist and finger pain with limited motion, she initially went in for an arthroplasty. However, as Dr. Badia explains, "in surgery, you have to pivot." When the initial plan wasn't viable, the surgical team did the right thing for the patient's long-term stability by performing a PIP joint fusion and a soft tissuesling fascial arthroplasty.
