Case description

In this short video a technique of splenic flexure mobilisation is presented. As it is deemed a necessary step in left sided resection, many surgeons still prefer to perform the ligation of AMI as the first step and the anastomosis the second. We believe, as the flexure mobilisation is necessary to avoid tension in the anastomosis, it should be done at the start of the procedure. When not, it is easy to say there is no tension and therefore there is no need to do it at all. In that case, the risk of anastomotic leakege increases.
