Case description

Clinilcal case: a 92 year old lady presented with massive caecal distension. Although a palliative approach was considered, due to massive distension and cruel pain without relief we chose to perform laparotomy. Here massive caecal dilatation was foud due to tumor of right flexure causing complete obstruction. Right hemicolectomy was performed, patient discharged on POD 7 into palliative home care.

Specimen histology was pT4aNa(1+/17) with serosa and omentum infiltration and extension into abdominal wall.
