Case description

Patient after vascular stroke referred to our department due to abdominal pain and tenderness. Severe sepsis also was present. CT scan confirmed superior mesenteric artery occlusion. Emergent surgery indicated with complete necrosis of the small intestine and large intestine up to splenic flexure. The condition worsened rapidly as no curative procedure was possible. Patient died few hour after the procedure.
