Case description

These pictures show a case of a male patient with suspected mesenterial vein occlusion. Conservative treatment with LMWH was not effective and surgery was indicated. There was correlation with the CT scan, while resection of the small intestine involved was necessary. We performed just damage control surgery, resection of the small intestine and open abdomen with second look 48 hours later, when the s-t-s stapled anastomosis was possible due to absence of further thrombotisation. The abdominal closure was also possible.
