Case description

A 35 year-old female, who began her disease with jaundice, weight loss, early satiety, nausea and vomiting. The endoscopy was performed and all the gastric mucosa and walls were infiltrated. The walls of the stomach appeared thickened, and the stomach distended poorly. Infiltrating adenocarcinoma of the diffuse type with signet-ring cells. Gastric Cancer in young patients is more likely to be of the diffuse type and associated with a poorer prognosis. A leather bottle stomach - linitis plastica - describes a stomach that has a gastric carcinoma which is morphologically an infiltrating carcinoma.
