Case description

This video shows failed resection of large polyp in ascending colon. During colonoscopy it is important to have a stable position and be able to move easily around the lesion without the endoscope slipping back. In addition, one should be able to rotate the endoscope if necessary to bring the lesion to the bottom of the field and keep it there without much struggle. If anyone of these is not possible, it is better to withhold resection as one may not be able to control bleeding or close a perforation and resection may not be complete. Such cases are best managed by surgery.
