Case description

A case of a middle aged woman, who underwent colonoscopy with resection of a 1 cm rectal polyp. Pathology revealed adenocarcinoma in an adenomatous polyp with no lymphovascular invasion.

Unfortunately, cancer cells were found within 1000 micrometers of the resection margin, therefore, the surgeon requested EMR of the scar site for staging.

The scar was about 6 weeks old. Band ligation EMR was performed. Excellent preparation allowed to identify the EMR scar. It was removed in two pieces as the scar did not allow it come in one piece.
