Case description
The use of barbed suture to plicate the diaphragm significantly reduced the operative time by approximately 30’. This 65 year old male, with an idiopathic left diaphragmatic eventration experienced dyspnea since two years, on exertion in the last 8 month. A chest CT scan revealed an important eventration of the left hemidiaphragm causing secondary pulmonary compression. This video shows the multiple benefits of Quill® barbed suture compared to the use of a conventional suture, including OR time reduction and reduced risk of post operative recurrence of diaphragmatic eventration.
