Case description

Trial sample collection. A 40-year-old female patient with a history of epigastric pain and severe anemia presented with a 15 mm tumor lesion on upper endoscopy, located on the lesser curvature over the angular fissure. Pathology: poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. She was admitted to the operating room for a D2 laparoscopic total gastrectomy. Additionally, a 14 mm mass, suggestive of ectopic pancreas, was found in the anterior aspect of the first portion of the duodenum. This was completely resected as part of the surgical specimen. The reconstruction was a Roux-en-Y procedure, and the esophagojejunal anastomosis was performed laparoscopically by hand.
