Case description

In this video, we will see a step-by-step video on the surgical technique of sentinel node biopsy (for breast cancer).
A sentinel lymph node biopsy is an alternative to the more extensive axillary lymph node dissection in Breast cancer. A sentinel node biopsy requires more surgical skills and expertise. Sentinel lymph node biopsy is associated with fewer side effects than an axillary dissection. An axillary dissection results in an increased risk of arm swelling than the Sentinel node biopsy. We should always ask the doctor if the patient is a candidate for sentinel lymph node biopsy?
Sentinel lymph node biopsy should be preferred over Axillary lymph node clearance.
