Case description

Non Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL) are neoplasms characterized by lymphoid cells (corresponding to lymphocytes T, B, NK) proliferation. NHL are the 6th most frequent neoplasm in adults and represent 7% of cancers in children. One of the biggest risk factors are immunosupression, caused by drugs and both congenital and aquired immune deficiencies. The most common symptomes are: enlarged painless lymph nodes, nocturnal fever and sweats, abnormal blood counts, and spleen enlargement. The mainstay of treatment is chemotherapy, which scheme depends on the type of lymphoma. On the above picture enlarged spleen with lyphoid proliferation is visible.
