Case description

Unpredictable situations, reactions or events may cause complications during endotracheal intubation. Laryngeal spasm, post-intubation oedema, vocal process granuloma, posterior glottic scar, arytenoid dislocation, subglottic and tracheal stenosis - all of them can interrupt this procedure. There are many predisposing factors: short neck, very anterior larynx, improper tube size, overpressure (from balloon), bad sedation of the patient. A complication after intubation is shown - granuloma involving the right arytenoid area. Hoarse voice is caused by uncomplete adduction during phonation due to the condition. The colour of granuloma is yellowish to whitish. The inferior part of the granuloma has spreaded to the subglottic area.
