Case description

Decompressive craniectomy in a 34-year-old patient suffering from acute Malignant Left Hemispheric Infarction of the middle cerebral artery with Acute Intracranial Hypertension. A 12 x 10 cm Decompressive Craniectomy was performed within the first 24 hours after the diagnosis was established, and a duroplasty with fascia lata of the vastus lateralis muscle and Marsupialization of Bone Flap was performed, the latter was repositioned 4 months after the patient had been operated on. Pre and post-operative images are shown, as well as images of the patient in his recovery phase.Results. Right proportional hemiparesis 2/5 for upper and lower limb on the Daniels ScaleGlasgow Scale for Coma 15/15 pointsMotor dysphasia.
