Case description

This 62 y/o man presented with chronic diarrhea for half year. Antegrade single-balloon enteroscopy showed diffuse swelling and scattered erosions of small bowel mucosa, thus random biopsy was done. The diagnosis is peripheral T cell lymphoma, NOS (PTCL NOS). PTCL NOS is a rare subtype of lymphoma (2~3%) which has a poor prognosis (5-year overall survival: 32%). Upon diagnosis, this patient also had stomach and bone marrow involvement. He was treated with CEOP + Etoposide, but complicated with neutropenic fever and profound sepsis then expired.
