Colonoscopy simulators continue to advance technologically. Research studies document long-term procedural competency advancement with only a week of intensive simulation training. This presentation will discuss current simulator models and evidence in training regarding each model and will present an option for the AAPCE to become actively involved in using simulators for colonoscopy training throughout North America.
Learning objectives:
•Learn about current colonoscopy simulator technology.
•Examine current evidence supporting initial training with simulators.
•Discover options for the AAPCE membership to consider actively purchasing a simulator to build interest and research and provide training opportunities for primary care physicians throughout North America.
