Case description

Laparoscopic sigmoid resection for sigmoid colon cancer using indocyanine green fluorescence to assess anastomotic perfusion. Advanced case: T3N2 This video presents a laparoscopic sigmoidectomy performed in a 47-year-old slim male diagnosed with sigmoid colon cancer. During the procedure, we used indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence to assess real-time perfusion of the colon and the anastomosis, ensuring greater safety and reliability. The pathological analysis revealed T3N2 disease, with 37 lymph nodes dissected and 14 positive. This case highlights not only the surgical technique but also the value of fluorescence imaging in colorectal oncology to reduce complications and improve outcomes.
