Aortic Valve Replacement With A Tissue Valve - Minimally Invasive Technique

Case description

Two main reasons for aortic valve replacement are aortic valve stenosis and aortic valve regurgitation. During this procedure damaged valve is replaced with artificial one - mechanical or biological. Typically this takes place at an open heart surgery, nevertheless minimally invasive methods are more and more popular and available for patients. The following video presents a case of a 70 year old patient with severe aortic insufficiency and ejection factor (EF) of 43%. Patient's valve is repleaced with medical tissue valve, through minimally invasive access, using right anterior thoracotomy.
