Case description

This video presents a red, vascular tumor which pulsate simultaneously with the patient heart. The tumor is glomus tympanicum - derived form glomus bodies which are chemoreceptors found along certain blood vessels and nerves within the proximity of middle ear region. The location of the mass is typical (behind the lower quadrant of the middle ear). The retraction of the eardrum is noticeable. Symptoms include conductive hearing loss, pulsing tinnitus, ear pain or bleeding from the ear.
