Dr. Askari graduated from Saba University School of Medicine in 2004. He completed his residency specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lincoln Medical Center. After his residency, Dr. Askari completed a nationally accredited fellowship (AAGL/SRS) in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery. He received his board certification in 2013.
Dr. Askari specializes in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Prior to joining WellHealth Women’s Specialty Care, he practiced Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgical Procedures, Robotic Surgery, and Pelvic Reconstruction in Seattle, Washington and had the highest volume of procedures for Robotic Surgery.
He specializes in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Urogynecology. One of Dr. Askari ‘s proudest achievements was the development and implementation of the Robotic Surgical Program for Pacific Medical Centers. He has been at the forefront of Minimally Invasive Surgery and was the first surgeon at his former practice to perform Robotic Gynecologic Surgery for benign indications including: Total and Supracervical Hysterectomy, Myomectomy and Sacrocolpopexy. Dr. Askari also specializes in treatment for endometriosis, pelvic pain and infertility.
A nationally recognized expert in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Dr. Askari has been a frequent speaker and presenter at national meetings. He continues to educate medical residents, fellows and train other surgeons in advanced Minimally Invasive Surgical techniques and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Askari also enjoys continuing ongoing research for the advancement of Minimally Invasive Gynecology by consistently publishing in the major academic journals and producing surgical videos.
Besides being active in the medical community he is passionate about, including being an avid dog lover and an owner of a Dachshund named Oskar. He also loves to play tennis, surf, and ski.
