Case description

The following video will highlight the technique of initial posterior prostate dissection and its benefits. This is video 1 of 10 in a series focused on robotic radical prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer.

Upon patient positioning, anasthesia and port placement, the robot is docked. Initial disscion of the prostate involves the meticulous division of both vas deferens and seminal vesicles. We perform this first to allow a larger working area, minimize traction of the neurovascular bundles for sexual function and assist with an easier bladder neck division.
