Case description

Film shows the case of 60 year old male. Right loin pain starting 10 months prior to presentation. Intermittent hematuria. USS showed dilatation of the upper calyx and a 2,4mm stone in it.
Due to high stone burden a PCNL was considered as the prudent approach. The position of the stone in the upper calyx made necessary a high puncture over 12 or even over 11 rib. Pleura injury imminent especially in the case of the right side. Video by Nikos Bafaloukas.
