Case description

Transthoracic esophagectomy with 2 field ( sometimes 3 field) lymphadenectomy seems to be the only procedure that satisfies all oncological requirements in esophageal cancer surgical treatment. We represent the video of standard oesophagectomy that is performed for squamous cell carcinoma (cT2N0M0). During abdominal dissection interesting anatomical variant of celiac trunk branches was found. All tissues with regional lymphnodes were dissected in one block with resected specimen. Esophagogastrostomy was performed in the apex of thoracic cavity.

Video by Dr Ilya Gotsadze.
