Case description

The preparation of the ear canal is fundamental when starting with endoscopic ear surgery, as bleeding while elevating the tympanomeatal flap can be very frustrating. We only use one infiltration point, at the superior portion of the ear canal, where the stria vascularis runs along. A combination of local anaesthetic with 1: 200000 epinephrine solution is used for the injection, normally with 1 ml of solution is more than enough.
