Case description

In this video we can see the appearance of the left nasal cavity in a patient after the functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS) because of chronic sinusitis. An evidence of inferior turbinectomy, uncinectomy, complete ethmoidectomy and wide middle meatotomy flushed with partial medial maxillectomy performed previously were revealed by zero degrees endoscopic examination. All the ethmoid air cells were uncapped and covered with normal epithelium. The use of 45 degrees rigid endoscope showed the frontal sinus ostium with a normal frontal sinus cavity. The same endoscope visualized the left maxillary antrum covered with normal epithelium. On the right side similar FESS was performed without additional inferior turbinectomy. After the surgery patients remain well with no recurrence of sinusitis.
