Case description

Jikku Haniball:

- The presentation is about shoulder arthroplasty for orthopedic exams.

- The scope of the talk includes relevant anatomy, aims, technical challenges, pros and cons of surgical approaches, arthroplasty options, indications and contraindications, complications, and management.

- Glenohumeral joint stability is provided by static bony constraints and dynamic concavity compression from the rotator cuff and deltoid muscles.

- Anatomic shoulder arthroplasty aims to replicate native anatomy, restore center of rotation and muscle tension, and regain lost range of motion.

- Technical challenges include dealing with rotator cuff deficiency and glenoid bone stock deficiency, and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty is a solution for cuff deficiency but has its own complications. This teaching video is specifically helpful for candidates preparing for the following Orthopaedic Exams : FRCS , European Board (FEBOT) , SICOT Diploma and Arabic Boards
