Case description

De Quervain's syndrome is a stenosing tynosynoviotis of the first dorsal compartment of the wrist. It is more common in the dominant wrist and affects the dorsal extensor compartment. Symptoms include pain and swelling over the radial side of the thumb. Pain occurs due to inflammation, thickening and stenosis of the synovial sheath. This condition is more common in the women and the pain is worse while movement.
