Case description

This patient is approximately 20 years s/p 6 incision radial keratotomy. The cataract is treated with a femtosecond laser to create a centered capsulotomy and nuclear fragmentation and softening. Corneal incisions with the laser were deferred given possible interaction f the laser with the RK scars. A CAST incision (Gimbel) was utilized to enter the anterior chamber under an old radial incision; this sclero-corneal incision architecture ensures excellent wound integrity. A small defect in the capsulotomy edge was noted that corresponds to an old radial incision that may have resulted from laser blockage. The toric lens is well centered and stable at the conclusion of the case. Video by Jason Jones, MD.
