Cataract extraction with placement of a T5 Toric IOL. Video by Jason Jones, MD.
Oasis Pupil Expansion Ring
Phaco with a small pupil from pseudoexfoliation is presented. A new device, the Oasis Pupil Expansion Ring, is employed to enlarge the pupil. Video by Jason Jones, MD.
Decentered IOL: Exchange Or Reposition?
This patient presented approximately 3 months after phaco IOL by Dr. Else Where with elevated IOP and poor vision. The one piece PMMA lens was obviously decentered and in the sulcus with 360 degrees...
Perforated PC
This patient had a PPV 5 months prior for a vitreous hemorrhage due to retinal tear. The cataract advanced in the postop period and he presented for surgery. I noted an extensive PSC in the clinic,...
PC Rupture During Phaco
Routine cataract surgery turned complex due to posterior capsule rupture during phacoemulsification. Viscoelastic was used to stabilize the anterior segment, the remaining nuclear pieces removed, cortex...
Phaco with Unanticipated Advanced Diffuse Zonulopathy
This older patient presented with routine-appearing nuclear sclerosis without history of trauma or evidence of pseudoexfoliation. During the early stages of cataract surgery, it was apparent the zonules...
Intraoperative Choroidal Hemorrhage
This video demonstrates the occurrence of an intraoperative choroidal hemorrhage. Shallowing of the anterior chamber, egress of viscoelastic, prolapse of the iris and intense pain are all classic signs...
Corneal Relaxing Incision Technique
Corneal (or Limbal) Relaxing Incisions are an effective method to manage pre-existing corneal astigmatism. In this video I demonstrate my technique of relaxing incisions. Pre-operative keratometry assessment...
Secondary Scleral Fixated PCIOL With Iridoplasty
This aphakic patient presented following removal of an anteriorly subluxed cataract. She had suffered an attack of acute angle closure many years prior, and, despite being treated with laser PIs, the...
Phaco IOL With Iris Coloboma Repair
This older patient was born with a congenital inferior iris coloboma. Cataract surgery was routine and the coloboma was restructured with an iridoplasty and suture approximation of the pupil. This patient...
Optics Captured
This patient is a high myope and astigmat who required a spherical toric lens below 6D. POBH of the toric lens followed by placing a 3 piece minus sulcus lens with optic capture resulted in a stable...
Catalys Phaco Post RK Toric IOL
This patient is approximately 20 years s/p 6 incision radial keratotomy. The cataract is treated with a femtosecond laser to create a centered capsulotomy and nuclear fragmentation and softening. Corneal...
Arcuate Incisions with Catalys
Recent experience placing arcuate incisions to reduce pre-existing corneal astigmatism is demonstrated in this video. A new black ink sterile marker is demonstrated which has greatly improved my ability...
Catalys Phaco with Toric IOL
This video demonstrates a routine Catalys phaco with toric IOL placement. Video by Jason Jones, MD.
