Case description

This patient with high astigmatism and pseudoexfoliation desired correction of the astigmatism during cataract surgery. During the Catalys procedure the capsulotomy size is adjusted because of less than ideal dilation which is a common occurrence with pseudoexfoliation, and the dense cataract is softened as well. In the OR, the capsulotomy is removed and the softened lens is extracted using burst mode torsional ultrasound. A capsular tension ring is placed to help ensure centration. The toric lens is then injected and positioned to conclude the case successfully. Video by Jason Jones, MD.
