Case description

In this video, I present the case of a patient diagnosed with cervical cancer, for whom an ovarian transposition was performed prior to pelvic radiotherapy. The patient had no absolute contraindications to this procedure, with a squamous cell carcinoma, no adnexal or nodal involvement on imaging, and a FIGO stage ≤ IIB. This approach allowed preservation of ovarian function despite the indication for pelvic radiotherapy. During the procedure, the ovaries were carefully mobilized and transposed outside the radiation field, with meticulous preservation of the vascular pedicle. This surgery highlights the importance of a personalized and fertility-preserving approach in young patients, aiming to maintain hormonal function and improve long-term quality of life.
