Case description

Aim: The aim of the study is to show a cervicectomy in case of a women with an invasive cervical adenocarcinoma. Clinical Case: A 30-year-old woman, wihich was pregnant one time and gave birth one time, was made a diagnosis of localized, cervical adenocarcinoma in an endocervical polyp. She did not complain of any sympthoms. She did not use cigarattes and all her previous PAP smears resulted normal. Intervention: A cold knife conization was performed and indicated an invasive, cervical adenocarcinoma with lymphovascular involvement. Both cervical curettage and biopsy of the endometrium showed benign changes. Pelvic examination indicated a cervical adenocarcinoma in a stadium IB1. All treatment alternatives were discussed with the patient, the will of the patient was to remain fertile. ntervention: A robotic, radical cervicectomy with both sides pelvic lymph nodes excision, was performed in order to cure the cancer of the cervix, diagnosed in an early stage. A polyethylene cerclage was used at the end of the intervention. The patient lost 200cc of blood, and there wasn' t any complications after the procedure. Normal menstruations were back in a 4 week time after the surgery. Conclusions: We presented the first case of robotic cervicectomy and pelvic lymph nodes excision. This methods has all the benefits of the laparoscopic surgeries and open procedures. A good anatomical recognision, better magnification, and improved robot dexterity are provided. We hope that this technique will be widely applied and will permit to save fertility in a women with an early cancer of the cervix, who wish to conceive in the future.
