Case description

A close up in water immersion, which notes the irregular nodular polypoid pattern. The diagnosis of diffuse type gastric carcinoma is very difficult. The delay of diagnosis is often due to false-negative endoscopic and histologic evaluation. The differential diagnosis of large gastric folds represents a challenge for the endoscopist and it includes malignancies (adenocarcinoma, lymphoma) as well as benign conditions (Menetrier’s gastritis, lymphoid hyperplasia and amyloidosis)
