Case description

Radial Endosonography. The intraluminal varices are being compressed by the water-filled balloon, and are hardly visible on the endosonographic image. Varices are identified as multiple, well-circumscribed, hypoechoic or anechoic structures that have a tubular or serpinginous appearance; they are located in the submucosal layer.
