Assessing USAF Primary Care Colonoscopy Training and Outcomes Using Quality Indicators

Rate:
N/A

Case description

There is increasing consensus that credentialing and privileging for colonoscopy should be based on performance in certain quality indicators. Early data indicate that primary care physicians can meet nationally recognized quality metrics in colonoscopy. This survey of newly-trained primary care endoscopists supports and strengtheens these conclusions. This was presented by Brian Crownover, MD and Ethan Zimmerman, MD at the 2012 American Association for Primary Care Endoscopy at their annual CME conference in San Francisco, CA.
