Colon and Rectal Cancer - Treatment Update

Video with information about treatment of colon and rectal cancer. It involves surgical resection (open and laparoscopic) : hemicolectomy, transverse colectomy, segmental colectomy, sigmoid resection and total colectomy. Adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery in all patients in stage 3 and some cases in stage 2.
In rectal cancer it is necessary to make accurate staging with methods like digital rectal examination and proctoscopy. Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy before surgery and sometimes adjuvant chemoradiotherapy after surgery.
Afterwards there is presented treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer and at the end author shortly discussed role of vitamin D, aspirin and NSAIDs.
