Case description

Youssef proposed that a new and innovative About a new diet (Youssef’s Diet 2) thatwill have complete control over epilepsy patients without any side effects, in addition to complete control of seizures through short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), such as acetate, propionate, and butyrate, play an important role in the carbohydrate metabolism process. These acids are produced by the fermentation of dietary fiber by gut bacteria inthe colon. This will be dietary fiber, which is the primary source for the production ofshort-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) via intestinal bacteria. This Diet will be unique becauseit will be suitable for epilepsy patients who suffer from other diseases such as diabetes, liver and kidney diseases, as well as heart disease and high cholesterol andtriglycerides, and they are not suitable for the keto diet, which has many negatives, including pressure on the kidneys and liver by increasing fat and protein in large proportions. In addition to directly controlling epileptic seizures by slowing glucose absorption: Soluble fiber (such as found in oats and legumes) forms a gel in theintestines, slowing the absorption of carbohydrates and reducing postprandial bloodsugar spikes. Improve insulin sensitivity: Eating fiber regularly can help reduce insulinresistance, improving the body's use of glucose and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes. In addition to reducing calories extracted from carbohydrates: some fiber ferments inthe intestine to produce short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), which affect energy productionand reduce fat storage. Increasing the feeling of fullness: Fiber increases the feeling offullness, which reduces the amount of food consumed, and helps reduce carbohydrateintake indirectly.
