A "Mini-Bentall" procedure is an aortic root replacement with reconstruction of coronary buttons, performed via a minimally invasive approach. The patient was a body builder who was found to have a leaking pseudo-unicuspid aortic valve, a 4.5 cm aortic root aneurysm and a 4.5 cm mid ascending aortic aneurysm. In this particular case, the patient had an aortic root and ascending aortic replacement via an 8 cm access incision (less than half of that for a traditional sternotomy). There was no blood transfusion and the patient was extubated on the table in the operating theatre, 20 minutes after the surgery.
