Case description

This video and its narration describe a new beating heart surgery option to treat an otherwise inoperable patient with severe coronary artery disease, a complete porcelain aorta and occluded internal mammary arteries. Thousands of patients with a porcelain aorta are currently turned down by most cardiac surgery centers because the ascending aorta cannot be surgically manipulated. This creative use of beating heart surgery techniques has effectively solved a difficult scenario in an inoperable patient and can open more options in many patients affected by this pathology.
