Case description

The mainstay of rectal cancer treatment is a surgical operation. Its method and extensiveness depend on the size of the tumor, its stage and on the presence of infiltration of nearby tissues or distant metastases. Predominatingly, rectal cancer is diagnosed in its late stage and it needs low anterior resection or abdomino-peritoneal resection for the treatment to be successful. In this video the case of 67 year old patient is presented. The patient is diagnosed with stage 3 tumor in his rectum and underwent a preoperative radiotherapy
