Case description

Abscess formation which caused a swollen epiglottis is shown. Emanation of pus was noticed from the blackish necrotic mucosa on its lingual surface. 70 degrees laryngoscope allows laryngologist to visualize the laryngeal inlet, the vocald folds were unable to be seen. Intravenous antibiotic therapy was ordered to the patient with good response.
