- Dr. Steven David Schwaitzberg, also known as Steve, M.D., F.A.C.S. serves as Medical Advisor of Arch Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Schwaitzberg has expertise in surgery, clinical trials, and biomaterials for hemostasis and sealing. He serves as Clinical Advisor of Starion Instruments Corporation. He serves as Director of Surgical Research and Medical Director at the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. He also serves as Associate Professor for Department of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston and serves as Associate Professor for Department of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at Tufts. He serves as Visiting Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Schwaitzberg serves as Chief of Surgery of Cambridge Health Associates. He served as President of the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He is a key opinion leader, Dr. Schwaitzberg has a distinguished reputation in surgery. He was initially trained as a trauma and surgical infection expert and then became an early leader in the minimally invasive surgery (MIS) revolution. Dr. Schwaitzberg is an innovator who teaches surgical technique around the world. He has served in key leaderships positions in major surgical organizations and received international. He serves as Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Surgiquest, Inc. He serves as a Member of Scientific Advisory Board at NeatStitch Ltd. Dr. Schwaitzberg serves on the Editorial board of the Journal of Laparoendoscopic and Advances Surgical Techniques and participates on journal article review for the New England Journal of Medicine, Surgical Endoscopy.
He holds two patents and has an extensive bibliography. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and his M.D. Degree from Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Schwaitzberg did his residency at Baylor Affiliated Hospitals in General Surgery.
