Biography
Mateusz Jagielski was born on 18th August 1988 in Torun, Poland. Between 2007 and 2013 he studied at Medical University of Gdansk. In 2013 he graduated there a Faculty of Medicine and gained a degree of Medical Doctor.

Between 2014 and 2018 he worked at Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of University Clinical Center in Gdansk. In 2016 he obtained Doctor of Philosophy in Medicine degree. His dissertation tilted “Interventional treatment of pancreatic necrosis" was distinguished by the university authorities. Between 2014 and 2018 he has been a university lecturer at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of Medical University of Gdansk.

In 2018 he has started work at Department of General, Gastroenterological and Oncological Surgery, Ludwik Rydygier Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. In 2019 he obtained the title of Associate of Professor basing on dissertation tilted “Endoscopic treatment of consequences of acute necrotizing pancreatitis". And in 2020 he obtained title Professor of Nicolaus Copernicus University.

Research interests of Mateusz Jagielski focus on minimally invasive method of treatment, particularly interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy. In the area of gastrointestinal endoscopy he is especially interested in treatment of consequences of acute pancreatitis. He is also commited to interventional endoscopy, particularly to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) as well as endoscopic drainage of pancreatic fluid collections. Above-mentioned interests resulted in his numerous publications in international medical journals. Mateusz Jagielski is an author of many conference abstracts and full-text publications. During his medical career he was repeatedly awarded by many scientific society for his various papers.
